Brief 2

BRIEF 2 FOUND OBJECTS.

The inspiration for my found object brief was the industrial revolution/Victorian era buildings and architecture the idea for the image I create first (the image on the left) when I was looking for found objects in my loft I found two old shell casings which looked a lot like smoke stacks when placed together, the idea was taken from there to do an industrial set of images.

An idea I decided to keep was the idea I wanted my images to be very clean unlike at the time where the cities are shown as dirty unkempt places with smoke billowing into the air. At the time most photographers were taking pictures of family’s people such as Fredrick William Bitcliff whom thought out his life mostly took family portraits and large groups of people such as factory workers, The images taken were always very clean everyone dressed up and that’s what I want my images to be like a very clean dressed up version of each image. (examples below).

The image in the centre is angled differently to the images on either of the sides this is because I wanted the idea of light coming though the wheel of the sowing machine is the same way the light comes through a water wheel by a dock. A point I tried to make with the centre image is that the sowing machine is also from a similar era as the water wheel at which it represents. Very few photographers photographed the Victorian era as it was back then which is why if you search for images of how it looked back then you will see a lot of drawings and painting but very few images. The top picture is of the old radio.

Emily Blincoe took photos of objects in natural lighting to create neutral colours this insipid me because I really wanted a natural light effect without using natural light for here objects she took object of all the same colour to create an amazing organic photographer of flowers this was one idea I had.

“This project highlights items with the same hue arranged together for an inanimate posed snapshot. The item group topics could be sweets, plants, nuts, vegetables…anything.” This is a quote from Caris Cruz a photographer describing the work that I completely agree with he goes on to talk about the changing of the colours in the objects creating a sunburst feeling.
